Beautiful plant & very healthy looking! I've never tried Fortuniana here. I'm on the 6b/7a line and have been afraid of how it would do over the winter. Maybe next year I'll try one or two and see.

Tammy-- You need to talk to Mr Mills at K & M Roses in Miss. I feel like you may be surprised. This is where Susan and I get all our Fortuniana grafted roses.--Ron

I've been tempted to try some here, Tammy. I've heard that if you can get it through the first winter it will do fine for you.

Hey, what happened to my post? Lost in cyberspace?

Well, I said something about how gorgeous Elina is in that picture, and that I love my 3 Elinas even though they are only about 6 ft tall--multiflora rootstock, I think (isn't that what Pickering uses?) Even in our triple-digit heat, Elina has gone more than a day or two without blooming, although the blooms are a bit smaller right now.

But watch out for her thorns--her only fault!

Love that picture, Ron and Susan

I meant to say, Elina has "never" gone more than a day or two without blooming.

I seem to be having more trouble communicating a very simple thought: Elina is great!

Thanks Ron! I've been on K&M's website quite a few times, and always been scared off by the rootstock. I remember Ann, who lives near me, saying that it may make it here. I guess it would be like my Teas and Chinas: I can grow them, but I plant them in protected areas, and expect a fair amount of dieback. I think I'll contact K&M this spring and see what happens!

Seil...maybe I can be the guinea pig; I'll try them in my zone, and then if they do well here, you can try them up in Michigan :)
