Elle seems to be feeling better since it's cooled off a little and rained here. Took this shot today and the bloom is much bigger and the color is better too.

Electron...sigh...The blooms can be gorgeous but it's been struggling in Golden Celebrations shadow and not performing very well. I just moved it out into the sun so I hope it will improve. The plant is several years old and only has 2 canes, black spots easily and is slow to repeat.

And then there's this one. EarthquakeNOT! This was another one of the Cottage Farms/QVC mini collection. However, it's definitely not Earthquake and I don't think it's a mini either. These blooms are all a good 3 inches in diameter.

If anyone has any idea or suggestion as to what it might be I would be eternally grateful! I think it's a floribunda or shrub. It always blooms in sprays and it always has those messy crushed looking centers. The color is sort of an pinkish/orange/coral. All of the roses in that package came from Nor'East/Greenheart originally. I've looked and looked at Cottage Farms, Nor'East, Greenheart, HMF and anywhere else I can think of and haven't found anything that resembles it. HELP!

Oops! I forgot one of my favorites!

English Sonnet is a truly amazing rose and more people should grow it. Look for it under a bunch of different names, King Arthur, Lawrence of Arabia, Samaritan and Fragrant Surprise. Hardy and healthy it truly is a surprising rose!

Goodness, English Sonnet is yummy! The foliage is nice and shiny too.

Could your mystery rose possibly be Marmalade Skies? The messy centers made me think of that.

Thanks! ES is yummy and that shiny foliage makes it pretty disease resistant too!

Carol, that's why I can't understand why more people don't have ES. It's so lovely and it's healthy and winter hardy too! I also have to note that the heat wave and drought didn't phase it either. It bloomed straight on through the whole thing and the blooms did not shrink, shrivel, fry or blow even though it's planted where it gets all of the hottest afternoon sun and next to the pavement to boot!

My Electron has a slow repeat also, and usually very short stems. It's one of the few that I can't get to bloom constantly, no matter what I do. It insists on throwing out massive flushes, and when it does, WOW! But there's a lot of downtime in between.

Right now mine's growing next to a massive Garden Party and they're a little intertwined. When both are in bloom, it's spectacular seeing the shocking pink blooms that poke through the cream ones of GP.

Which rose is it, Mantis? It's lovely!

Oh that does sound nice, Flaurie! Mine was next to Fragrant Cloud of all things. They were shocking together!
