Please help review with this transplanting

I have never cared for a rose before, and recently inherited this plant with the house I bought. I transplanted it yesterday and am not sure if I should be cutting it back or how? Any advice? I am not even sure what kind of rose it is.
I would like a very big and giant bush to grow, its currently about 8 ft tall. Thanks

I would cut it back by half right now, to compensate for the roots lost in transplanting.
