I think this is only my 2nd bloom of Beverly. It hasn't done anything wrong, I kind of ignored it in the beginning. It wasn't doing very well, so I cut it way back and now it has lots of healthy growth and several blooms. I am not recommending neglecting roses, but sometimes they can be very forgiving and resilient.

For sure, sooo very often roses can be VERY forgiving and resilient, Sara-Ann. Perhaps that is ONE of the multitudes of reasons we admire them so!! Thanks for the beautiful photo and info about your Beverly, dear! :o)

Dove_song, Thank you for the kind words. Thank you, Lesley. My Beverly came from Palatine too. I am very impressed with their roses. I am curious, do you plant some of your roses in the fall?

Sara~Ann...yes, I sometimes plant in the fall. The bare-roots I get from Palatine are so large and seem to handle this very well. Have not lost one yet! I know this is a gamble, tho. I have my holes dug and ready and here in Louisville,KY. our winters usually start the first of the year. I don`t recommend this...but I do it! Thanks again for sharing Beverly with us. lesley

Thank you Beth, you have so many wonderful roses. Lesley, thanks. I was wondering about planting in the fall, because my sister had ask me about doing that a few months ago and I told her it wasn't advisable. If it works for you, I think that's great. I need to wait until later anyway. Your winters probably aren't quite as severe as ours, our cold weather is probably more prolonged than yours. Your roses are gorgeous, love them.
