| I adore my friend's plant of Lamarque. Its probably not a rare Heritage rose in your country Serena, but it is a Heritage rose.

| Wow, Karen! Your LaMarque is so beautiful and I love its cream whiteness with that touch of apricot. It is a show-stopper! And your camera really shows of your friends roses in such a wonderful way! And Karen, this is my first time seeing LaMarque on this gallery, so I am very happy to see it here! and I am looking forward to all the other photos that you collected and your new garden too! Last time we saw your garden from your former home and it will be a real treat for us with your new Australian growing season (Spring)! Thanks so much Karen! We miss seeing your lovely photos! Hugs for Ray! he is coming home, so maybe you can drag him out to the roses to have his homecoming photo celebration with the girls and their puppy too. Cheers to you and Ray and the family! |

Harold, Iris Gal and Serena, thankyou for your very rewarding comments ! Harold, how is your wife ? Serena, I forgot to say that Lamarque is a Noisette. These photos were taken at my friend Lynette's Open Day. Zephirine Drouhin, a Climbing Bourbon.
Climbing Michelle Meilland.
Mme Jules Gravereaux, a Climbing Tea.

| Karen thank you so much for these beautiful rare roses. Every single one of them except for Zephirine and Albertine is new to me! and I learned about Albertine from YOU! LOL! What lucky people we are at our regular gallery to be able to see yours, Krista's and Connie's roses. Karen I need to email you real soon. I'm actually in NYC visiting my brother! Poor Jim has a broken arm, shoulder and wrist from a fallen tree that landed on him during a windstorm. So he is healing up and your wonderful photos are also helping him from typing too much! Boxofrox and Harold have sent several wonderful photo panoramas to distract Jim from boredom and worrying over blackspot, LOL! Anyway, please send Ray and the girls my hugs! |
and also.

| Gravereux is so lovely, absolutely amazing and Rival, Brunonii unforgettable! and a new Meilland, Michelle, Wowwwwww! |

Karen what a Beautiful array of roses and I do love climbing roses so much and these are such Awesome speciments. I still keep you and Ray in my prayers, as for Adele she is getting better everyday we are so Blessed. They had news of the brush fires on tv the other day and I immediately thought of you and prayed that they would not harm you, as you have enough problems to deal with. So until next time may GOD BLESS you and yours. Harold |

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments, it sure makes it worth posting when you get them. Thanks Ingrid for setting me straight about the Tea rose, I did get it a bit back to front and the spelling wrong ! I took some photos of my garden but I wasn't happy with them. My garden is still young and I am mulching and weeding at the moment. When I have good photos of it I will post them. I do have some rose photos I took in the big Rookwood cemetry you might be interested to see. Will post them soon. Alhough from a photo I saw of one of your cemetries, you ha really cared for roses and heaps of them. |

Thanks Krista and Zeffyrose for your very great comments too. I will have to buy Mme Jules Gravereaux next year, as my little own root plant didn't make it. So Zeffyrose, you are named after Zephirine Drouhin ? Here a some more photos I took yesterday from my own garden. Fritz Nobis, Elmshorn, and Summer Breeze.
Fritz Nobis
Leander.
Anne Boleyn
Mme Drouit
Cupid again.
Mrs Bushby's Bourbon

| Wow, Karen! Your garden is always filled with more and more beautiful delights to see! I am so thrilled with your roses. I've heard of Anne Boleyn but haven't had the chance to see her in person and then I see "unknowns" at least for me, LOL like Mrs. Bushby's, Fritz Nobis, and Elmshorn! Wonderful! Madame Drouit is also looking very, very lush! Hurray for Karen Roses! |

| Rosemeadow, Thank you for posting the picture of R. Roxburghii Plena, a Species Rose. I have had this rose 3 years and it hasn't bloomed yet and I wondered what it would look like. Hope mine blooms soon as it really looks beautiful. Shirley |

Hi Serena and Shirl 2003, I am very glad my photos are making you happy. I definitely want to get R. Roxburghii Plena after seeing it at the Parramatta Rose Garden. Here are the photos of the Rookwood Cemetry, which is the big cemetry in Sydney.
Yesterday I thought I would be watering today as I noticed a few of my new roses arn't doing so good. But today we are having steady rain all day. So I am so happy !!! |
RE: Lamarque, photograped while in Sydney.
| | |
| Wow! the Cemetary roses are amazing. I bet "the angels" are sleeping amongst those roses, LOL! Is that white flower the same one as the bush that is "fountain-ing" outwards? I love the apricot and pink large shrubs. You had mentioned before that you were taking photos while driving Ray back-and-forth from Sydney and now I can see why! so fantastic! And I love the photo of Corrinne with the pink roses! |
RE: Lamarque, photograped while in Sydney.
| | |
Hi Serena, I am glad you liked seeing the photos in the cemetry. These certainly are tough roses that are there, to have survived all those years with only rainfall. I loved seeing these old roses and plan to go back next year a bit earlier in the season and explore the cemetry more. Yes the close up of the white rose is the same one as the bush one. Corrinne likes smelling roses. |
RE: Lamarque, photograped while in Sydney.
| | |
| Well, those roses are absolutely gorgeous! as is Corrine! We absolutely love seeing her in your photos! I am glad Shirl mentioned R. Roxburghii Plena; I forgot to ask Krista what a species rose exactly was. That was a wonderful photo of it too like a delicate silk tissue ornament. |
RE: Lamarque, photograped while in Sydney.
| | |
Species roses are the ones that are the origial wild roses. Then you have the Species Hybreds. I have caught you on the computer at the same time as me. Corrinne is sick today so I can't go out to do some weeding just now. Yesterday I planted a long hedge of 6 different tea roses alternately, up behind the house. Over 20 young grafted roses I am buying off my Sydney friend. |
RE: Lamarque, photograped while in Sydney.
| | |
| Aw, poor Corrinne! Hope she is resting well and will be better soon! We are going to be drooling over your roses when winter comes, because that will be your Australian peak season! Six tea roses! Wow! Do species roses all have that fancy-leafed sepals? I just noticed that your species rose has very unusual sepals surrounding the flower buds. Almost looks like tiny, miniature romaine lettuce leaves! very cute! |
