Bravo! Your flowers are very jolie and it is a pleasure to always open a thread of yours. Now, for my faves. They are your Souvenir de la Malmaison, Geoff Hamilton and your William Shakespeare 2000. I always held back on WS2 because I thought it might be too red for me, but your photos show it to have a muted rosy red-purple color that could work with my garden in an interesting way. Thank you for adding beauty to a lovely afternoon I am having during high tea.

Juliet, WS2000 isn't very red for me. I actually purchased it hoping it was leaning more towards the red spectrum. In the summer, it tends to be more "red" for me, but it's certainly not red. In the summer it opens in a VERY vibrant magenta color and fades off into a medium-dark crimson color. In cooler temps for me, it opens and stays a moderately dark crimson/purplish color. It somewhat reminds me of a color range you would see in an old gallica. The most color accurate photos I have seen are from tivoli_rose. This photo is what I typically see in the summer. So far it has been darker for me as it has cooled down. You can see more full bush shots if you hit her Austin English Roses tab at the top.

Here is a link that might be useful: Tivoli's photos of WS2000

Wonderful collection of roses.

How do you like your Georgetown Tea? Is rebloom comparable to, say, Pat Austin?

The 2nd pic of Souv.Malmaison is melting beautiful.

Thank you, everybody!

Juliet, WS200's color is changeable. Sometimes it is cool pink (rarely), sometimes dark red, but mostly purple. It is a great rose.

Beth, I am sorry about your PF. Mine is against a fence facing north and has not been getting any sun now (it gets sun in the summer only). It has two buds on it, but two of its four canes died. I was hoping it would grow tall enough to reach the sun, but now I think I might have to move it:-(.

Iris_gal, my Pat is a 7' monster, and my GT was a band this past winter. GT loves heat and pumps out blooms all the time. It seems to me that it will outbloom my Austins when it grows up a bit but even now the bloom is prolific. I expect it to be in a friend's garden when it grows up though:-).

Me, too, Iris Gal and Juliet! I think that 2nd photo of Souvenir de la Maison is absolutely wonderful! Masha, your Crown Princess Marguerite and Christopher Marlow are exceptionally pretty in their shape and form.

Thanks Masha!

I'm glad to hear Georgetown T is a good bloomer. I'll have to talk my friend into it. She has acreage.
