Its great! and your roses look so healthy and growing beautifully, Precious Platium is such a good looking rose, I bet by next summer it will be well over 6ft. | Jim, I freaked out when I saw the first picture. I hadn't yet scrolled down to see that it was a progression over time, and I misread the date. Thought that you had snow on October 2nd...oh my! What a very nice series of pictures. --Laura |

Jim, It is really fun to see how your roses have grown. That 1st picture kind of freaks me out too. It's coming way too soon. Kitty |

Last year (2009) we got 2" of snow on Oct 15th. This year, no snow that early. We have had some frosts when over-night temps reached 34 degrees several times. Right now we are going through a warm period. So, our roses are still blooming, I just haven't taken any recent pics. I might do that tomorrow. Thanks everyone! |

| Thanks for all of these photos, Jim. Your threads are always so fun! This fall and winter I'd love to skip the cold temperatures, fierce winds, ice, and snow--or maybe vacation during that time in a gentler local. lol Nah, that's most likely not gonna happen. :P Take good care, my friend, and may God Bless you and yours!! :) Debbie |

| I had some beautiful blooms coming in on Sunday, then that low-pressure catastrophe hit us. All of the petals are all over Illinois right now. I'm afraid it's going to be too cold very soon for the remaining buds to open. |

The cold, then warm weather here is playing havoc on blooms. lol. We are about to go into colder night-time temps again. Friday nights expected low is 30 degrees. So, I do not expect much more in the way of blooms. Rose leaves here are starting to shed & fall also. |
Livin Easy

I should state though that Livin Easy in it's first year is still going strong with blooms. They do not look the best, but, neverless it has 15 blooms & more buds. I was very surprised to see it have blooms most of September & all of October so far. It's doesn't seem as effected by the cold weather as our other roses. I'm anxious to see how it rebounds after a cold winter though. |

| We have our first freeze warning for tonight. I didn't lose any canes in the 50+ mph winds we had this week, which surprised me. I probably won't be able to assess what remains until the weekend, since it's dark when I go to work in the morning & dark when I get home. Bummer; the cooler temps and shallower angle of the sun was really bringing out the best colors in most of the blooms. |

We are getting high winds today, which is wrecking havoc on the blooms & leaves. lol And I did notice some crossing canes I will need to deal with. Yes, the colors are very bright here too & color is holding longer. |
