Visited ARE two weeks ago and took a few pictures. It wasn't too hot out, lower 80s, so it was a nice trip. And a few of their roses for sale. :) Fires of Alamo (sorry for blurry picture)

They have a beautiful place! Sounds like you had a fun trip. Did you stop at the Blue Bell creamery and get some ice cream!?! I hope to make a trip there one day.
|
I did! Never been before, took the tour, and finished it off with ice cream. It was a fun time. :) Long trip back though. I was a passenger, so was able to flip through my book purchases, Empress of the Garden and Roses in Bermuda, Revisited. Impressed with both!

Oh wow, I don't know what my bank account would think if I could drive to a nursery like ARE! Beautiful grounds and roses. If you haven't already grown it, I'm sure you'll love Madame Berkeley. I planted one from RU for my mom at the beginning of the summer. Very beautiful apricot tones when it's cooler. Nice to see Enchantress. I can't recall much written about it on the forum. Jay

I love going to Brenham too, glad you were able to do the tour at Blue Bell, that's a must lol. I am going to be ordering from ARE soon and will be ordering empress of the garden and 2 roses. Looks like you got a nice rose, was that the only one you bought?

Yeah, it was. I'm running out of space for larger roses. The place smelled SO GOOD! I should have taken more pictures, but I was pretty intoxicated by the time we left. (Rose drunk.) I ordered Radiance and Red Radiance from them, because they didn't have them there at the store.
