POPE JOHN PAUL II - not the best photo.. the bloom was hanging way down low, but this is the best one I've ever seen on my 3-4yr old plant!! Everybody else raves about this rose, but I have yet to be excited about it...

You always have a few surprises.
Haven't seen Tawny tiger looking like this.
Pope JP, looks like it was made of the finest china, you can see the light through.

Beth,
Very pretty!! I wish my William looked that purple. Does yours have some shade? Or, do you put something special in the soil to make it more purple?
Thanks,
Kitty

Great roses, Beth. I really really liked Tawny Tiger - very nice color.

Inga, my TAWNY TIGER looks like that all the time. What's different about what you usually see?

Kitty, my WSII changes colors with the weather and time of yr. In summer it's more like a dark pink. I think it's just more purple because it's getting cooler. It is in an area that's somewhat shady part of the day, tho.

Thanks Masha!

Love that Bill Warriner!

RE: Early November blooms

You have some nice ones still going also I see. That Bill Warriner looks nice just about everywhere I have seen it. To me it resembles another floribunda, Cherish. Do you have it also? The WS2000 I also have, and it has been plugging along. Yours looks fairly typical. It also resembles one Portland rose I have called General Cavaignac, but is a bit darker. The Painter's Palette almost looks like a striped dahlia. It is pretty. Thanks for posting. I wonder how much longer we will have these to look at. Will we make it to Thanksgiving?

Oh oh oh I love the Gypsy one. Where did you get it and how big does it get? I will go to HMF and look it up too. All of your roses look great. Judy

Bustopher, I do have CHERISH, and you're right, it is quite similar. Altho CHERISH doesn't bloom nearly as much. BW is an excellent producer. Almost always in bloom!

Judy, GYPSY CURIOSA is a florist rose I got from Carltons many yrs ago. I believe Cliff at EuroDesert Roses had it available a few months ago, but it's sold out now. You could email him and see when he might have it again. It's a gorgeous rose. Prefers the cooler temps. My plant has stayed quite compact. It's about 2ft wide and maybe at the very most 3ft tall.

RE: Early November blooms

I've seen another post some years ago and it wasn't a single bloom, but may be the owner was mistaken, that is why I was surprised.
Regretfully, I have never seen Tawny Tiger, personally,

My Tawny Tiger is also a single. I think Beth's is correctly id'ed here.

I have taken some pics of TT where it was a semi-double. If you catch it in the early stage before it fully opens it can look fuller too. But most of the time it's a single bloom.
