Very beautiful roses with an interesting history!
Are they fragrant?
Please keep posting photos of their progress as they grow. It's great that you show the whole bushes in their garden spot. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for your great comment Sandra. Mrs Fred Danks is fragrant and I smelt it once some years ago but I couldn't smell anything from this first bloom. I will have a smell of its next blooms and the blooms of the others too.
Yes I will keep posting and I am glad you like that I post the whole baby bushes too.
I plan to keep collecting the Alister Clark roses. I have found on the internet alot of written pieces that Alister Clark wrote, so I am looking forward to reading all of these.

Hi Harold, I am sorry I never replied to your very nice reply. I didn't realised that I did this, please forgive me.
Ray goes for his first scan since he started the Radiation and Chemotherapy treatment, on Tuesday next week. Will then see the specialist doctor on the Thursday.
I am glad you like The Rose Exchange Forum. There is another Australian site you might be interested in, it is called 'Rose Talk'. It comes up as this on google. It has a portal.
The Argosy bloom got more beautiful. Here is aother photo I took of that bloom, which is a while back now.

I am glad you like it Carol. I reckoned it was a special rose after I saw how its bloom got even better than it had been.
I will be interested to see if they have this rose at 'MistyDowns' Heritage Rose nursery next year. My friend Bruce got it as budwood fron 'Rustons' and budded them.

Too bad we live in different countries, as I have one spare one in a pot growing very well in my hot house.

RE: Alister Clark roses

Carol, the blooms on the Agrosy in the hot house had opened right out I saw when I went out for a walk in the amazing rain with my unbrella. So I brought it back to the house to photograph. I will take a photo of it again latter as it changes. Does it look like the same rose to you ?
