I am surprised how well the other "grocery store minis" do for you that you planted out in the garden. I was under the impression that grocery store minis are just bred to be in the house and then meant to be discarded when they don't look that good anymore, basically being a long lasting rose bouquet.

Personally I am relatively new to growing minis. I just started to order 5 varieties last summer. One died and the other four got eaten down to the ground by an animal. But they are recovering now. I am looking forward to the first miniature blooms in my garden next season! Maybe they will become my new rose love...

Christina, I hope you grow to love minis. They are forever charming. I have planted them out in the garden for years. In fact, seeing how well they did helped me to discover that 'own root' roses thrive best in my garden, and so I began to go that route. (I really don't like what grafted roses do after a decade or so, at least for me; the suckers and the big knobby wood are terrible, and I end up discarding the bush.)
The little minis are so generous and free flowering, and they make darling accents and borders for your special specimine plants, besides being lovely on their own.
Thank you for enjoying my blog, too. I am finding it a fun winter project.
