Joyfulness being rather pretty with more shade.

Love 'em both. Mine hasn't done very well for yrs. It came pretty close to dying on me this season. I sure hope it perks up next yr. I wonder if it's due to being own-root. Maybe it's better grafted. Is yours grafted or o/r?

Mine is grafted Beth. I think this one likes more water than it's been getting. Began dripping it overnight+ and it sent out some good growth and blooms. Does that compute? Shouldn't all Dr, Huey grafted HTs require the same water amount? 'Secret' in that bed didn't mind less water.

It's lovely! It's always good to know about a rose that can take some shade.

Maybe the Dr. Huey doesn't need a lot of water but the scion of Joyfulness does? If the DH doesn't have it to give they scion won't get what it needs to grow.

Had Joyfulness on fort. On occasion I would have some beautiful blooms, but finally decided it wasn't worth the work (short stems, not lot of blooms, long between cycles, and some BS issues).
