Signature nov 08

Is this rose stingy for anyone besides me?? maybe she's rebelling because I have her in a pot...

Signature

The cooler weather seems to have brought out the dk pink contrast, wish this on was alittle bigger.

Hondo

Does anyone else grow these? if so I would love to hear how they do for you.

My SIGNATURE has been in the ground for about 8yrs and it's extremely stingy! Of course the bed it's in is seriously lacking nutrients, and I don't fertilize often enough. Maybe it's one of those kind of roses that does better if it's fed regularly. I dunno?

As for HONDO... it does great and blooms quite frequently. That dk pink blush is there in all temps. In fact it's more intense in hot temps.

I had both of the roses. I lost Hondo to that bad Easter freeze of '07. Signature suffered badly from that also, but it has tried to make a bit of a comeback. It still is not up to what it should be, but it did better last year. It also does not bloom heavily. Note that the flower has a higher petal count, and that effort that the plant has to make to form each flower can show up as lower numbers of flowers. Signature can be really nice, but I don't get that many flowers off my plant.

My Signature was extremely stingy the 1st 2 years. Now it is a heavy bloomer and has become a favorite. I gave it extra fertilizer and it really took off this year. Perhaps it has own-rooted itself, giving it extra vigor.

Your pictures are very pretty!

SIGNATURE blooms a lot for me & has a pleasant, moderate perfume. If I could only grow one rose SIGNATURE would be it! Love your pictures and photos, SuzyQ. Thank you! Although this is old post I couldn't let your thread roll off the GW rose gallery, which it was it just about to do. I haven't seen you around for a long time & hope you are doing well. May I put your photo on my Facebook page? I will credit to you if you say yes. Take good care, hon. :~)
