Potting miniature rose outside in winter

I just received a beautiful miniature rose which I would like to repot and place on our deck. Can I do this in January or do I need to wait until it is warmer?

Repot it and move it outside. Once it's outside, do one of two things. 1---Put it on the south side of your home away from north winds until the middle of March. then move it to your deck. 2---Put it on your deck and if you get a freeze, wrap it up with an old blanket until it warms past freeze. I've got a young mini I just repoted, on the south side of the house with a little straw on it. Been there since early Dec. Checked it today and it looks healthy and ready for spring.
