What is a miniflora? I guess its a mini rose but what is the flora? Florabunda? Whats the difference between the roses they sell inside Wal-Mart and Home Depot and the ones they sell outside? Can you tell I am new to roses? Thanks, Judy

RE: What is a miniflora????

In the Minature rose class there are three sizes they are put in. Micro mini, the smallest in bloom size and plant size. Next is the minature rose which has ,on the average, 1-2"size blooms. Now here's what's confusing. Mini roses can get 8' tall in some parts of the country. In my area they range from 12" to 4 foot. The next size is th mini-flora. In most part the plant is as big as a floribunda and the bloom size is around 3-4". Ingrid and Leading Lady are the giants in this class
Just because a rose is called miniature doesn't mean they will be tiny! I have a Gourmet Popcorn, which has hundreds of tiny blooms on a 6 foot tall plant. So just get some mini rose catalogs and study them over to see what you would like. I will tell you that mini roses are the easiest to grow, i have 150 of them!

they are smaller than hybrid tea roses. Bloom size is about 3 inches give or take depends on the rose. Most of the mini bushes grow from 18inches to about 36 inches tall but some grow a lot more but they are wonderful
