Miniature Roses

mini roses for alkaline soil in Texas?

I'm looking at mini roses for narrow bed along the foundation but I'm not sure what to get. I usually use Earthkind list for regular sized and they have done fine in rocky limestone soil but I'm not sure about mini's. I only have 2-4 inches of topsoil on top of limestone rubbles. Thanks.

Lou, the only two miniature roses that I've seen around town that have consistently done fairly well long-term in the ground have been 'Rise-N-Shine' & 'Sweet Chariot'.
They do get some blackspot like all minis, but at least they have the ability to shake it off, regrow leaves without chemical sprays, and keep on going.
But this is in good, quality, well-draining, well-prepared garden soil.
I'm afraid of how any mini would perform in anything less than that.
