Miniature Roses

Please help me keep my miniature pink rose alive...

Hello, I received a potted pink rose on valentines day, and i really want to keep it alive, but i'm failing rather quickly. I don't know anything about how to look after roses, except that they like water, so i've been keeping the soil damp, but not so it leaks through the bottom of the pot, and that roses don't do very well in the heat, which i'm doing my best to accommodate. Please please please could i have advice - i've looked elsewhere on the forum, but don't know the name of the rose - i'll try to upload a picture so that you can see, and i'd be most grateful if somebody could tell me my roses's name.
