Hi all. I hate replying to my own post, but I realize it was incredibly vague. I've chosen a few roses that look like good candidates for me (for various reasons) from Nor'East. Can anyone knock them down, or promote them maybe? Just want to run this by a few experts. I suppose I'll have to make a trip to get some fertilizer and insecticides and containers and things. (This RosePharm they have, does it work? I don't like putting scary chemicals on my hair, let alone my plants.)

Hi Bubbles. Welcome! I am fairly new to roses myself(have 20 at home from last year and 25 on order to be delivered this month). However I don't have any mini's ......yet.

So athough I cannot give you any recommendations, I do love Minnie Pearl and that is on my "wish list" along with sweet chariot to put in two hanging baskets on my arbor.

By the way, my sister lives outside of Pitts -- Gibsonia, she used to live in Zeli..... I love that area.

My favorite beginner book, Ortho's all about roses! I love it. I still refer back to it on a regular basis. My overall favorite rose book is without a doubt ARS rose encyclopedia. It's expensive, but well worth it.

The orth rose book is probably about 20.00 and gives all the info you need about soil requirements, light, containers, how to prune, etc.
