hardiness of mini roses

i have around twenty minis mostly in hanging baskets or pots. i di nothing more than harden them off in the fall and i only lost two. we had record low temps here that dipped into -20 with the wind chill.

as far as i am concerned, that is a testament to the hardiness of roses. i would hazard to guess that the ones that are looking dead may even reappear due to being own root, so perhaps none died at all.

in my opinion there is a lot to be said about hardening off your roses in the fall; i am a believer.
