Do miniatures set rose hips or do they "self-deadhead"?

My Apricot Midinette has some spent blooms that already self-pollinated. I haven't deadheaded some blooms yet to see if they are gonna set some hips, but I checked this morning and the spent blooms look dry. Is this normal?

Here's a pic of one of the spent blooms on the right.

Yes, miniatures will set hips. I use them when I make crosses all the time. Just take off the petals and leave the hip on the plant and let it ripen a good 90 to 102 days and you'll have seeds inside that you can plant if you like.

Oh thank goodness! I thought they were only good as pollen parents.
