Newly planted Minnie Pearl has a bud already

I got my Minnie Pearl from Edmunds only a few weeks ago and they were dormant with no leaves on them yet. They leafed out really well and I already have a bud developing. Should I (sniff, sniff) prune the bud? If so how long do I keep pruning and when is is okay to let them bloom?

I always let one open so I know I have the correct rose.

So I should cut the later buds off? How long do I do this? Just for the first flourish?

I never cut my buds off-was told that by the time you have buds, the energy to make them has already been expended so just let them go and deadhead when they fade.
