If they are outside, then prune them at the same time you prune the rest of your roses. Then do your repotting.

Thanks - I should clarify - these minis live in the house whenever temps go below freezing. They are fully leafed out, and were overwintered in the sunroom.

So it sounds like they could be pruned sooner than later?

I hard purned my minis the last week in January and they came back great by mid march. I think you can do it any time now but why not just put them in three gallon pots and let them go a season or two like that. I think the only advantage with in ground minis is that they don't have to be watered as much. They do just as well in pots.

These are in three gallon pots and in their second season. I pruned them to bare canes in January. I have trouble getting down to them at ground level and like this height. I think the practice of growing minis in pots is under rated. I prefer them in pots.
