Ok, this minature rose is not supposed to get 4 feet tall and 3 feet wide, is it? I have one that is, is it a record?

Nope, mine was at least that large before I ripped it out. Don't confuse the term "miniature" with the size of the plant, it refers to the size of the bloom. Minis can be very large plants.

Mine is 5'high and 3'wide. I put Christmas lights on it one year! The only thing miniature about it is the bloom size.
I think it was misclassed. It should be a shrub!

I am curious Diane, why did you rip it out? Yes, Christmas lights for me next year! Ha!

RE: Gourmet Popcorn

Too much blackspot and too large for the space and hardiness was suspect (although others don't seem to have a problem with hardiness here).

As to hardiness, it grows here in a park unprotected and overwinters well. First time I saw it, I was sure it was a mislabeled Darlow's Enigma. It gets big!

Cheers,
Michelle
