Mini Roses

I'm interested in the tiny "Mini" roses. I know mini usually refers to the flower size, but wanted to put the really tiny rose plants in my deck boxes. I had a yellow one years ago, but lost it one winter (it was in the ground). I live in Minnesota, so would have to overwinter them somehow. Can I bury them? What varities will bloom all season, if any. (I have a huge Black Walnut tree so I can't grow roses in the yard, tried for years then found out the tree was killing them!!)
