Miniature Roses

Charmer disease resistant - NOT

I bought a dozen minis from Nor'east, including 2 cracker jack, I think they're called, that is, discount, their choice. One was Denver's Dream, really pretty. The other was Charmer, which was covered with blooms, looked great, but is a magnet for all fungi. It's covered with powdery mildew and blackspot, which I've never seen in Cal before. It's so much worse than any of the others that I'm considering dumping it. Anybody else have experience with this one?

Oh yes, we do get powdery mildew and black spot in CA! Not as much a problem here as other places, but still crops up. For the powdery mildew, try moving the bush to a sunnier spot. Even
partial shade will result in mildew on a suceptible plant.

Sorry, I didn't express that well. I commonly fight powdery mildew, but have never had a problem with blackspot. Of course, this year was 2nd wettest on record, so...
