No idea why but the wilted ones I would remove the buds so all the energy can go into keeping the root system happy. It also looks like you are going to lose some foliage. Don't worry about that. If the canes are green, they're still alive. Keep it in the south side window until it starts to perk up. I get these store mini's all the time. When I separate them, sometimes a few will go into shock but come back strong. But every once in a while I'll have a cane die. As long as I get a couple4 of these to take, I'm a happy camper.

Thank you for the quick follow up and useful information. I will keep them in that window but maybe wait a day or two before I cut the buds off. The foliage usually comes right back. I guess they stuff multiple plants in one little pot to make them look good for the consumer.

Water! If they perked up when you put the ice cubes on them then they need more water. Those ice cubes were just a tease and they want more! Transplanted roses often need a lot of water to get settled in. Water them until the water comes out the bottom of the pot. And DO NOT let water sit in those trays, EVER. Although they like a lot of water they hate to have their roots sitting in it. The trays will hold water in the bottom of the pot and the roots will rot.
