has anyone tried this on mini roses?

| I got aphids on my mini roses. Not being one with pesticides on hand, I used my homemade mix that I use to clean windows. Ammonia, water and rubbing alcohol. I have no idea of the precise ratio, but water was about half or more and It worked like a charm. No more aphids just the next day. |

| No, and I might be afraid to try. Water alone would have been enough to rid yourself of the little beasties. |

| alcohol alone would most likely kill the aphids. I grow hoyas and they say it is ok to spray rubbing alcohol right on the plant to kill mealy bugs. I would be a little more cautious spraying anything on roses. |
