To plant or not to plant (Jeanne Lajoie/Climbing Rainbow’s End )

All,
I could use a little guidance; I have recently purchased 4 Climbing Rainbow’s End and 4 Jeanne Lajoie minis’. My question is when to plant? Plant them in containers and wait until the spring to put them in the ground. Or slowly harden them off over the next couple of weeks and put them in the ground this year with only about a month and a half of good growing season left. This also may be helpful I live in central PA now after 3 years of planting and growing in Italy.

Thanks in Advance
Tim

I'm going to plant LaJoie, Snowfall, and a climbing Rainbow's End this week. Hopefully with plenty of winter protection, they will be OK. :-)

Plan well where that Jeannie is going my friend. Ours quickly outgrew its space and sprawled big thorny arms all over. When we finally decided to move it, it had huge roots going deep into the soil that took 1/2 a day to dig out. The flowers are so dainty but that is one tough plant. I would give it more room than you think it will need.

I second that advice, it is a big plant.
