Pondering a wonder.

The temps have dipped now to a point where the less hardy have migrated indoors. As I move the migration along, I observe the formation of hips on my seedlings of 2012. Thought debates. What are the minimum temperatures that begin to interfere with hips maturing? OR Just wait the 3 months to harvest? Am so glad there is not a definitive answer. Its what makes an observation scientist out of a gardener.

I don't bring mine inside so I don't know how long it would take for maturity but outside I wait for them to at least start to turn color before harvesting them.
