It may very well be sporting, but also at this time of year as temperature and sunlight changes, you may see some different colorations in your roses.

According to the recent issue of REF (Rose Exhibitors' Forum), there are 7 sports of Bees Knees, one white one discovered by Sandy Lundberg and 6 discovered by Peter Alonso. Bob Martin (editor of REF) suggests a challenge class of these sports down the road. Peter personally gave me a cutting of Erin Alonso last year (fall of 2004) and it is a nice yellow mini with perfect form like Bees Knees. Similiar growth characteristics as well.

Oh, yeah, Erin Alonzo is a dream to grow, just like BK.
