I saw a very unusual rose yesterday, I was hoping that someone might know of it.
The flowers are miniture, no more than an inch across. They are snow white and compound, perhaps twenty petals. They look more like a miniture carnations than a rose. The plant is a climber and quite hardy in So Cal. The leaves are medium green and shiny. They are narrow and pointed with no evident serration. Thorns are either absent or scarce. The stems were shiny green as well. If you are thinking that this is not even a rose, so was I!
The owner could only remember that it was an antique rose. I have looked at the catalogs and see nothing remotely like it. Help!
