Dark Lady or LD Braithwaite?

I bought 2 David Austin roses last year and planted them in the same bed. One was the Dark Lady and the other LD Braithwaite. I thought the blooms would look different enough that I could tell them apart, but I was wrong! haha...so now I don't remember which one is which. Can you help?

This is the only one that has started blooming this year:

So do you think it's LD Braithwaite or the Dark Lady?

Oh gosh! That's a tough one. The color looks a little more like the Dark Lady but the form looks like LDB! I hope some who has them can help you.

i have both, here in north texas. dark lady is opened. and is really magenta, right now. surprising.

ld b is not yet open, and was more a true dark red last year.

the bush shape is different, for me. dl is more open and rounded, ldb is more upright. gardens are different, but that is what i have right now!! hope this helps.

i think in the heat, dl gets darker.

Based on what you both said, I'm thinking this one is LDB:

The buds are darker red, but when open they are about the same color as the other one. I also looked in my David Austin catalog, and I noticed that Dark Lady is supposed to have more petals than LDB, and the first flower picture I posted definately has more petals than #2. So I'm thinking #1 is Dark Lady and #2 is LDB. Agree?

On another note, do you grow any other David Austin roses? If so, which are your favorites?

I have probably 30 or so DA's. Check my site for listings, which I need to update. Favorite for Dallas area. .. Benjamin britton, heritage, pat Austin, ld braithwaite, dark lad....You Know...I'll probably list them all! Maybe the other way around would work best...Tamora has never taken off for me altho I have two and keep trying. Abraham Darby died in the heat last year. Sickly scrawny. Trying him again tho. Everyone else is great. And I have hope for these two!
