| We have 2 red climbers, no idea of the names. Mom thinks Dad purchased them, so they maybe more modern that I think. Dad might have also taken them home from a clients garden who did not want them.
Not sure how to post the photos here, but they are below: |

| Thanks! I was thinking that it might be Don Juan. Any guesses on the other? I need better photos of the whole climber, but I got distracted by rust on it.... |
|
| I'm sorry that I have no guess on your other climber. I notice that this board doesn't get as many visitors as it used to. Maybe if you post pictures on the regular Roses Forum someone there might recognize your second rose. Best of luck! |

| Is the darker red very fragrant? I'm thinking it might be the climbing form of Oklahoma. |
|
| I agree, if the darker one is exceptionally fragrant it could be Oklahoma. Several years ago there were mislabeled reds at a big box store - Oklahoma's and Don Juans. We purchased what we thought was 2 Don Juans to flank our entrance to our barn. However, much to my dismay - only cause I am one of those OCD types about symmetry in the garden - one is Don Juan (huge now, spread 12-14 feet) and the Oklahoma quite a bit shorter maybe 6-7 feet but extroidinary smell! Good enough that we will not be sacrificing her anytime soon :) good luck! |
