I'm trying to find a rose bush that my great grandmother used to have (needless to say, I don't have a picture of it). From what I remember, it reminded me of a wild rose, pink in color, lots of thorns, and the bloom looked like a small hornet's nest... we always called it a hornet's nest rose, but can't find that anywhere on the internet.

The bloom always looked like the nest... almost like they never opened. Blooms were "normal" size, probably 2-3 inches. If anyone has any idea what this rose could have been, please let me know. I also recall that it grew in a mass, and lots of blooms. May not help anyone, but that's about all I can remember. (The rose was in South Carolina upstate.) Thanks
