pink & yellow rose

Hi,

This is a rose that we moved from my father-in-laws yard in PA to GA after he passed away in 1995. I should remember the name but I don't although I have the name "Peace Rose" in my head. There were actually 2 roses, the other one was damaged by the person who repaired our water line a number of years ago.

It's on a graft & there are some red roses from that. I don't remember a year when this bush had so many buds. I have photos of the plant with leaves if that would help.
Thanks, Linda in NW Georgia

First off dig down to where those red rose canes are coming from below the graft and rip them off, not cut them off, but rip them off. That is the root stock coming up and if left to grow will eventually take over the entire plant and you will lose your FIL's rose completely.

Now for an ID, there are a lot of roses that have "Peace" in their names but from the time frame you give and the coloring it looks like either Desert Peace or Flaming Peace to me.
