A new type of rose??

Ok, I planted this dusty, light colored purple rose 2 years ago (got it from WalMart), and last year, half of it suddenly shot up climber canes. I thought, ok, that's quirky, and expected dusty light purple blooms. That half of the bush didn't bloom at all last year, but the other half is still a standard rose bush, just like I'd planted it. Much to my surprise this year, the climbing half of the bush bloomed, and how!! It's covered in tons of blossoms, but they're NOT purple! They're a vibrant, gorgeous red, about the same shade as my standard Mr. Lincoln bush. What is this? I've heard of new types of roses miraculously and spontaneously just shooting off of old bushes, is this what has happened?
