Yellow rose

I'm trying to put a name to this rose. It looks like a hybrid tea. The buds have pink/orange tinges on the outside that disappear when the bloom opens. The bloom is golden yellow with red stamens and some red streaking in the very center. The petals fold over to form points on the ends. The flowers have little fragrance and the leaves are pale to medium green and aren't too glossy.

It might be King's Ransom or Oregold, as littlesmokie suggested. Does anyone know if either of those fit all of the descriptions above?

I've ruled out 21st Century as it doesn't appear to have the pink/orange tinges when in bud, Midas Touch due to the shape of the bloom, Gold Glow because this rose's petals aren't pointed, Gold Medal because this rose loses its pink/orange once it opens up, and Sunsprite since this rose isn't a floribunda.

At this point, it would help a lot for you to do an "average petal-count" check on your mystery-rose. It is one of the major ID-clues used in identifying roses in this forum.

An "average petal-count" means, count the petals in (let's say) half-a-dozen blooms. Then divide the total number of petals from the six blooms by six.

I myself usually count the petals in ten blooms (which includes lower-quality blooms, not just the best-looking biggest ones).

Example: total count of 300 petals from the six blooms, divided by 6, equals an average petal-count of 50.

For clarification: One way you can know it isn't Gold Glow is that (according to the ARS' official description info) Gold Glow's average petal-count is 100 petals per bloom.
Gold Medal's average petal-count is 30-35 petals.
Midas Touch's is 15-25 petals.
21st Century's is 26-40 petals.
Oregold's isn't listed by the ARS.
King's Ransom's is 38 petals.

Good tip, JohnReb. I checked on www.helpmefind.com, which shows Oregold as having 25 petals.

The average I came up with is 24. I can definitely rule out Gold Glow and, given that the petal count for King's Ransom is 38, I guess I can rule that one out, too.

I am ALMOST sure I also saw bagged bare root Oregold roses when I bought the 2 bagged bare root roses in question. Given that, and the petal count match, I guess I've got 2 Oregold roses.

They're pretty enough, though not what I chose. I can live with them, though. Thanks for your help!

If it has extremely vicious thorns, Oregold.

Thanks. I'm still not sure what it is. I guess I'll wait until it pumps out a few more blooms, count the petals, and see if maybe it's King's Ransom. That seems to be the only likely suspect.
