Name That Rose!

unknown fragrant, nearly purple

I guess this would be considered a rambler/climber? It has 6-8 ft arching canes. The stems are pretty much solid thorns. Roses are clustered, about 3 inches in diameter, nearly purple when they open and they fade as they age. 5 leaves. Very fragrant.

Here's what the whole plant looks like right now. The flowers actually look darker than they do in this picture though.

I believe that is indeed 'Russelliana', a pleasant old Gallica/multiflora hybrid. And yes -- it is considered to be a climber.
