Name That Rose!

right name of this plant?

Is this a Cape Primrose? They seem to grow wild near Cape Cod beaches. People call them "cape roses" but looking online, I see pictures of various varieties called "cape rose." I'd like to know the proper name for these graceful bushes that thrive in the cool ocean air. Thank you.

It looks like a wild species rose of some kind but without close ups of the leaves and blooms it's hard to say which one.

From the look of them, and the fact that they're on beaches, I would guess some kind of Rugosa, an Asian species of rose that is extremely hardy and naturalizes easily.

Hard to be sure without close up photos of the leaves and the blooms, but probably Rosa rugosa (R. rugosa). My friend in MA has a huge stand growing in her front yard, and I see them all over the south shore.
