| Hi, I found this rose bush 4 years ago when I moved into this house. I was tearing out an old fence and found one stem of a rose bush. So I transplanted it and nutured it from being a twig to a beautiful rose bush. Over the last couple of years it has really taken off. It only blooms once each season, at the end of May through the beginning of June. I have tried searching the internet for a rose that looks like it but haven't had much luck. Here's some photos that I took this evening.
Does anyone have any guesses?

| I posted this on the Rose forum page and have had some very helpful responses. We think it may be a "Cardinal de Richelieu" or "Russelliana". |

| I agree with 'Cardinal de Richelieu'..., but if it's not an Old Rose I would also check out 'Purple Heart' and 'Midnight Blue' on Help Me FInd. Mostly due to the way cameras capture reds and purples, it can be very confusing. Some close ups of the foliage and thorns might be more helpful. BC:) |

| Almost certainly 'Cardinal de Richelieu', a once-blooming Gallica hybrid. |
