Are you sure this is a climber? How long was the "long cane"? Can it be a mislabled Knock Out?

I am pretty sure it would be classed as a climber - the long cane is 4-5 feet tall and has to be staked or trellised agains the wind.

There are two new canes at the bottom.

This one has 15 petals.

It has very little scent.

And so far it blooms singlely and not in clusters.

But the pictures of Knock Out sure do look like my rose

My rose has small blooms.

I'm going to go with Olga and say Knockout, due to your description of the color (Knockout has a bright color that can be spotted from a long ways away). A climbing rose usually takes a few years to get real height, and the canes it throws out will be 6-10 ft. high/long. If this is Knockout, it might grow to a 4x4 or even 5x5 bush.

You are quiet welcome. Till I read the FAQ I didn't know thorns, cane colour, etc were helpful - thought it was just the bloom.

So I included everything I could think of cuz I really wanted it identified. My hubby has a better memory than I don and he reminded me that the wrapper said it was a snow white or white snow and I was disappointed when it came up red. But now that it has more blooms, I love it. Kind of like expecting a boy and getting a girl, yo love em anyway.

Maybe Double Knock Out.
