yellow stamens? Probably Dr. Huey, a once-blooming (in the spring) climber, that is used as a rootstock. What has happened is that another variety was purchased, but has died off, and Dr. Huey (a vigorous grower) has taken over. It isn't a good rose to grow, later in the season, it is prone to disease. If I get a chance, I'll post a photo, I have a prime specimen that I have to get rid of ASAP, or I'll lose my Classic Touch.

A strange thing that I notice. I planted a Joesph's coat in a friends backyard years ago. This year the Joesph's coat put out a cane that had the same red rose flowers I have been trying to ID. Being that the Joesph's coat is grafted on the Dr. Huey rootstock, does that mean eventually they will not have the Joesph's coat, that the rose will revert back fully to Dr. Huey?

Yes, that's correct. If you can dig down and rip out the Dr. Huey cane at the base, you might save Joseph's Coat. You have to do is quickly, Dr. Huey is very vigorous.
