huge climbing white rose?

Recently, I was "given" access to a tiny junk-filled patch of urban garden. Among the other neglected plants in this patch of green is a gigantic rose bush. I've never grown roses, so I'm at a bit of a loss, regarding rose care. (To complicate things further, I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area, which has very odd weather patterns.)

Anyway, I wondered if anyone might give me some pointers to help me with the process of identifying this rose. It has a slight pink blush on the buds, blooms white, and then fades to a striated pinky-white. There doesn't seem to be any fragrance. The flowers bloom in huge clumps. And the plant itself is a MONSTER. It must be ten feet tall.

I have been cutting away the dead flowers, and trying to keep the new growth from sprawling all over the place.
