It is not fragrant.

It does not have many thorns.

Bloom size is approximately 3" diameter.

I can take pictures of any part of this plant that I need to to get more identifying markers. Just let me know what you need :)

It's not Pink Flower Carpet, is it?

If it can survive an SD winter newly planted, I'd say whatever it is, it's a keeper.

Without a doubt, it's 'John Cabot' (Canadian Explorer series rose).

Extra pictures that will help a lot include:

a closeup of the open flower
a closeup of the opening bud
a closeup of the bud cluster
a closeup of a full sized (usually at least five leaflets) leaf
a closeup of the thorns along the stem (the thorn pattern is often unique to a particular rose).

You've already provided a picture of the overall size and appearance of the bush, so that (which is the final picture you should include) is not necessary.
