This beautiful rose grows wild in the fields in Southern Oregon. Could someone give me a name??? I am also looking for history on how it came to this region.
Thanks, Suzy

I've seen a similar rose growing wild in central west Saskatchewan (Cut Knife). I assumed it was a variation of wild rose. I wanted to dig it up but refrained. However, I think one came with the house. :) I'll take a better look this year.

Not a native species, since it has double flowers. I'd guess it escaped from homesteads by suckering. Very pretty-- I hope someone can ID.

Probably 'Venusta Pendula'.
