I think this must be an old rose (pix)...

...as it grows at the old house in which I work. There are a couple of these rose bushes, totally neglected, but blooming away. I don't know if they repeat. I detect no scent. The color is a vivid "red rose," perhaps a little brighter than the close-up, and darker than the longer shot. Sorry I couldn't capture it precisely.

It looks like Dr.Huey, a rootstock. Probably Hybrid Teas that reverted.

We have thousands of these here. The scion dies and the 'Dr Huey' rootstock lives on.

Interesting! I always wondered what Dr. Huey looked like. I didn't think he was nearly this pretty. :-)
