Name That Rose!

Can't recall spelling of a Rose

For years we lived on the central coast of California and I would buy roses at the farmers' market that were small flowers and smelled nothing like a rose but very fragrant. I believe it was called a tuber rose but, therein lies my problem...I don't believe that's how it's spelled. If anyone can help I would be grateful. Also, I would like to know if they would grow where I live now in southern Idaho. Thank you!

Tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa) is not a rose, but a perennial. Started from a tuber. They are very fragrant. Check out bulb sellers.

I am not familiar with your growing conditions, but I do know that they are not winter hardy in my area (central NJ), and the tubers need to be dug up and stored for the winter.
