My first guess is Reine des Violettes, but honestly that's because that's the only fuchsia OGR I really know. Also, I think it smells like Rose de Rescht but slightly stronger.
Thanks for the input Phased Weasel, I had the exact same thoughts and a friend online suggested it was RdV too. This one had such a strong scent indeed. Not like enough to choke me, but it wafted to a degree that pleased my senses. Now I want one of this.
If I'm not mistaken, that's at the Getty Villa right? If so, it is definitely Autumn Damask, a repeat blooming Damask rose. I've spent a decent amount of time there and it sure looks like the Villa.
Yes, it's the Getty Villa, thanks so much Jay and also Seil.
Jay, would you happen to also know the apricot-tone rose that is seen on the walkway from parking above the herb garden? I thought the color was beautiful and want to learn more about it on HMF.
No problem! I volunteered for a few summers at a Latin program headed by my former high school teacher held at the Villa. I always love visiting. A friend of my dad's from church leads garden tours there, so I've been able to get some good information from them.
There's a good chance it's Scepter'd Isle. I have a book about the gardens at the Villa and it's mentioned as being planted in the Entry Path along with Ballerina which I don't think is the culprit.
True, there is some color variation on RdV but mine has never been hot pink. It could, however, be the false RdV that some places sell that is thorned.
