 o
greenish color rose?

I saw some cut roses in a local grocery store, they have greenish or lemon green color (or greenish yellow). Does anyone know the name and sources where I can buy a plant?

Thanks.

RE: greenish color rose?

Florist varieties do well grown inside greenhouses but are often not happy growing out of doors in our gardens, with smaller blooms and disease-susceptible foliage.

I do know a very pretty garden rose, a hybrid tea called St. Patrick that blooms greenish yellow in warm weather. That is one I would recommend you try. (In cool areas like mine it is often apricot-yellow, but the outer petals are always green and it is lovely and long-lasting.)

I'll put a link below to the HelpMeFind listing, and you can click on the "photos" tab for more pictures:

Here is a link that might be useful: St. Patrick

Thanks Petaloid for the info and link. I'm not a rose fan but this one really caught my attention. None of the photos from the link is close to what I saw. Maybe they used some tricks:-)

There are a few green florist roses, but none are currently available as plants for the home grower. Super Green, Green Tea and Jade are probably the most popular varieties. You can try searching for wholesale rose sites to see photos. St. Patrick is the closest in coloring that is available as a plant for the home.
