Perhaps a China/bengale, or more likely a polyantha? Go to HMF, see link below, and under advanced search, check out red, or see choices, in each of the varieties and you might make a match. Anne

When was this picture taken? If this is spring, I would say Dr Huey, the rootstock.

Haven't seen the picture but 'Dr. Huey' is very common here, the rose grafted onto it often having died.
